Share essential photos
Many beginners on flickr may feel quite disappointed when they see so little views, comments. So they may have the wrong ideas that the more photos they upload, the more views they will get. Actually, you only need to upload your best photos, let me say, Select 10 best (or at least near best) photos of yours and upload them to flickr. By default, flickr uses your filename as the title of your photo – like this one, ‘DSC4506′ for a photo that you shot using your Point and Shoot camera.

Write sincere views
We hate those comments like "great, I love it" or "thanks for sharing". So why not spare some time and write what you really think about the photos from your friends. Believe me, if you write more real views, the more you will get, and of course, you will get reputation in flickr.

Flickr is more than uploading photos and then sharing, but something more. There are various tools on flickr, so why not try some, and add some special points for your photos.

Proper size for your photos
Some experienced users will always resize the image so as to protect their pictures. Usually, 800 by 600 pixels will be proper.

Flickr rss
You are familiar with blog rss, yet you may feel strange before flickr rss. In fact, with social networks, you can publish your photo feed. Orkut, Tumblr, Facebook and Ziki allows you to add your photo stream as RSS feeds. Just use the RSS feed url at those services and forget it. As you upload new photos, they get updated in these places as well. Cool, huh?

Effective Tips to Get Famous In Flickr

Do you know there is a comment on flickr users like this, 10% flickr users create content, of course, uploading photos for the rest 90%. Why some photos get so many favorites, comments and fans? In what way can your photos become the 10% of them, existing for attract more fans. Here are some effective flickr tips.

Let's first begin with uploading photos. Newbies tend to upload everything they click, just stop it, it is wrong. You have to show your best photos to make your account reliable, respectable and worthy. And do spare a few seconds to write a title to the photo, and the more imaginative the better.

Then, sharing with friends. It is easy to share your photos with your friends on yahoo, and your friends will be your best admirers (even if you take average photos). But, as you take more photos, you will improve.

Besides this, to post photos to groups is an effective way to promote your photos. Yet do remember, no groups want trash, so just few of your best photos could be submitted to groups.

Never forget your profile. We personally hate the default "nothing much" profiles. So, fill in who you are and give a personal touch. Post your best photo up in the profile. Show that you are serious about learning photography.

You want comments from the others? Aren’t you? Then you must be active on other's photos. So do remember to comment on other's photos: Flickr works on an unwritten principle. If you comment on photos of other people, at least they will pay a courtesy visit to your photo stream. Have some good photos for such courtesy visits.

Use some tools. Ditch Internet Explorer, use Firefox. Because, with Greasemonkey installed, you can make advantage of the plenty of productivity tools available will save you time and make you efficient with flickr.

Explore friends and groups. Find who is in your neighbourhood: Take part in your neigbourhood flickr group. None exists? lucky you – create a flickr group. You can always search flickr members based on their location, city keywords or interests etc.
Revise the license of photos. Add a Creative Commons License: Yes, dont worry about 'image thefts' or theives. You can choose "Attribution", Commercial or Non-commercial use of your photos. And if you attach Creative Commons License to your photos, probably more external links you will get.

Have been on Flickr for weeks, you may notice a magic part on flickr, that is Flickr Explore. But why your photos cannot be listed there?

Every day, Flickr uses an algorithm to choose the best 500 photos, which is decided on many factors, such as the views, the comments, and how many favorite the photo gets.

So just like what Flickr says, "There are lots of things that make a photo interesting or not in the Flickr." But of course, with some tips, it will make your photos easier to get into Flickr Explore page.

Tags
Tags are everything to Flickr users. Add some relevant tags to the photo, that is to say, use most corrective words to describe the photos. And by the way, the Popular Tag will help you to decide what is hot in Flickr in the week or in the last month.

Best photos
Although you have many photos, yet just remember select your best photos. To promote them to Flickr's best 500, you are advised to keep that as the lasts photos. That is, when visitors come to your photo stream, they should view that in the first page. How do you decide which one is your best photo? Go to Your photos and sort based on "Interesting" - select the first photo on that list!

Remove your photo from Groups
According to the recent changes in Flickr algorithm, if your photos in many groups, it will devalue the interestingness. At most, you may keep in 5 groups, after getting enough visibility for 2 or 3 days, you may remove from them and repost it in another set of five groups. It is a trade-off between "More visibility (in many groups)" and "Making it to the Explore page". Decide what you want.

Invite Experts to give you comment
Expert comments are really important, so if it is possible, you may invite expert photographers to comment on your photo. Go to Explore page. Select a photo which is similar to yours (If your photo is flower, select a flower photo which has made it to the Top 10). This is to ensure to invite the expert commentors to view your photo.

Shoot great picture
Of course, this is most important factor to make your photos. Well, you can bring experts to view your photo. What if it doesn't live upto their expectations? So, take good pictures. Always make it a habit to visit Explore page and learn good tricks.
